Name: Oiseau Roux
Age: 10
Height: 4'8
Eyes: Gray
Hair: Long, slightly curly blonde hair that reaches midway down her back. She mostly wears it loose, her fringe held back with a pin.
Status: Pick Pocket & Thief to a Stagehand
Personality: Oiseau is a very quiet, eerie sort of child. In her profession, being small and meaningless is important when 'going on a job'. Which is to say, a burglary or a day on the town. Oiseau is good at blending into the crowds, no one takes notice of her, while she takes notice of their pockets. She is very clever, and quick witted, which comes in handy when getting out of trouble. She rarely speaks and can move with a graceful silence that her fellows regard with frightened curiousity. Oiseau is very skinny and short, from a life of malnourishment and hard work. Because of this, she's completely flatchested, which makes her disguise of a boy easier to maintain.
Skills: Climbing down Chimney's
Picking Locks
Blending into Crowds
Drawing
Picking Pockets
Moving Silently
History: Oiseau was born in the slums of Paris. She was born with only a first name and no last. Later, she adopted the last name Roux because she thought is sounded impressive. There had been no Father, and as far as she was concerened there was no Mother. The three years she had spent with her Mother were nothing but shadow's and sounds, faces she didn't recognize and the hunger. After her mother died of influenza, Oiseau was taken to an orphanage, then bought for two francs when she was five. She was taken in by a scruffy gentlemen who operated a finders keepers sort of buisness. Burglaries and pickpockets, muggings and robberies. Oiseau was the only girl, the one before her was tried and convicted. A short drop and a sudden stop.
'Girls,' he had told her, 'Get away with so much more than boys do.'
Oiseau was more suited to burglaries than pickpocketing. She would climb down the chimney, though a window, and unlock the front door. Soon the other children in their little buisness had gotten caught, executed, or had an 'accident'. New littluns were added on and soon Oiseau was the oldest, her slip of the hand and silent grace something to be admired among the others.
Unfortunatley, under a slip up from one of the littluns, their buisness was found out. Fortunatley, Oiseau had been out on the town, she returned to an empty warehouse. The wares and money gone. And so she was free. Her skills learned over the five years under 'apprenticeship' would be enough to keep her alive on the streets of Paris.
Though one particularly cold night, she picked the lock on the stable entrance door and hid in the basement. Disguised as a boy, her hair tucked under her cap, she quickly assumed the role of a stage hand. No one seemed to notice her, and she made sure of it. From watching the others she learned to hoist curtains, grease the pulleys and change the ropes, becoming something of a catwalk monkey.
