Joined: May 2008 Gender: Male Posts: 96 Exquisite Corpse « Thread Started on Nov 8, 2009, 4:54pm » and it has been four years since the kidnapping of Christine Daae during her performance as Marguerite in Faust, the fire that consumed most of the Opera Garnier and the death of Erik, the Phantom of the Opera. Now after a long reconstruction period, the opera house is ready to be opened again and continue spreading the spectacular music of geniuses. They need a new troupe of actors, stage hands, musicians, dancers and other employees to work around the Opera Garnier. There is a new manager in charge of running the Opera as well and things couldn't be better with the Opera ghost finally gone. Unfortunately for them, they do not realize that Erik's death had been staged. Before laying near the well at the house on the lake, he had consumed a vile of potion that would leave him in a death-like state for a few months. When he woke up he thought that the Opera would be ruined and he could go on writing his masterpiece Don Juan Triumphant!, but he didn't account that interest in the Opera would remain. There was a small hope in him that Christine would return to the Opera and become his forever, but it was hidden by thoughts of revenge for the people who ruined him. ~.~ Since the incident, Christine and Raoul moved to Sweden for a brief time until they felt it was safe for them to return to Paris. They returned with ease to the top of Parisian society as the Comte and Comtessa de Chagny. Christine announced a pregnancy in 1883 and they both are the proud parents of a baby girl, Nicolette Louise de Chagny, who is now a year and a half old. Memories still haunt Christine, but since she believes Erik is dead, she is able to convince Raoul to become a patron to the reconstructed Opera Garnier in support of old friends. However, Madame Giry has become obsessed with a vision Erik told her of years before, that involved her daughter Meg becoming an Empress. Night and day she works Meg to a dangerous degree of exhaustion to prefect her dancing so she can become the head ballerina of the Opera Garnier and be noticed by more high society men that could help her achieve the title of Empress. Meg remains unaware of her mother's reasons for pushing her, but she is slipping into an unhealthy state of being, trying to cover it up any way possible. ~.~ Once again the Opera has many stories to tell, with many characters involved, but so many questions must be answered. My children, the music of the night is far from over...
