The notes of the Pachelbel Canon floated through the air, it's beautiful melody soared right up to the frescoed ceiling. The grand hall was empty, a rarity in the Populaire. Isabelle sought out these moments as often as she was able. To play on the stage and with only herself and the statues to enjoy the music.
She did not really want to perform on the stage, even thinking about it make her hands go clammy and her heart start beating furiously. She was quite content to stay in the orchestra pit where she could not be seen, only heard. But it was nice to pretend sometimes. The canon was her favorite piece to play, although there were others almost equally loved. Yet every time she pretended on this stage she found herself playing that one piece.
Her violin was a Guarnerius, an expensive one at that. She had received it as her twelfth birthday and she had only used that one violin since. She polished it every night, until its dark wood shone brilliantly. It was probably her most prized possesion.
The piece ended, and without having to think Isabelle started another.

Rowena was curled up in Box 5, enjoying peaceful reprieve for a few brief minutes. She was thoroughly engrossed in a novel when the strains of violin music floated up to her. Pachelbel? Rising drowsily, she peered over the edge of the balcony and curiously observed the young woman as she played. She was talented, but the woman's interruption of Rowena's relaxation was unwelcome. Leaning over, Rowena cupped her hands around her mouth and called down, "Some people are trying to rest! It would be greatly appreciated if you took your violin and went somewhere where the sound doesn't travel so bloody far!"

Startled, Isabelle ubruptly stopped her playing. Her last note hung in the air. She looked up and saw Rowena glaring down at her from Box 5.
"I'm sorry," She replied to the woman's outburst. Her quiet voice barely carried throughout the theatre. She took her violin off her shoulder and held it and it's bow in both hands.

Cain was behind the stage doing some work on his dance moves, when he heard the sound of a violin. It was quite pretty who ever played it must have been quite talented. Tough he deiced to leave the person alone and let them play.
He was about the leave when he heard a booming voice tell the person who was playing to be quite. His kind of up set him because who ever it was as not doing any thing wrong. In fact it was quite common for people to use the stage while nothing was going on the practice.
Walking out onto the stage he found it was a girl who had been playing. And the voice belonged to none other then Rowena DuMonde who he never seemed to get along with.
"I'm afraid madame that she has every right to be here as much as you do." he said. "Besides I think she plays marvelously. What is your name mademoiselle?" he asked truing to Isabelle and gave her a charming smile.

Cain standing up for her surprised Isabelle. Though they had danced in the same productions before the fire, they had never talked. Which was why she attributed him not knowing her name to that fact.
Having recovered from Rowena shouting at her, Isi answered Cain in a louder voice. A confident one, though that wasn't how she felt. "Isabelle Larousse," she said, bobbing her head slightly.

Rowena made a low throaty growl of annoyance. Certain fights could be won, but arguing with de Lioncourt was futile. With a toss of her hair she collected her belongings and stormed out of Box Five. She didn't know where she would go, perhaps onto the rooftop.

Johanna was climbing the carpeted steps towards Box Five when someone rushed past her. It was a woman with a book and a really ticked off expression. Johanna pressed herself against the wall to avoid being flattened. She peeked into the box and noticed there was a blue shawl draped over the chair. She grabbed it and yelled after the sprinting form and yelled "Hey, you left your shawl!"

"Ah miss Isabelle, I do believe you have worked here before yes?" he said knowing she had, tough he never really had talked to any one elts besides the dancers and the stage crew before hand. "I'm Cain de Lioncourt." he said walked closer to her and held her hand and gave it a light kiss. While he was surly not form any proper up brining he had some manners.
He smiled as he watched Rowena DuMonde storm off. He knew he had own. He personally had nothing agent the woman but their personalties clashed in the worst way. "Don't worry about her, she means well. Her bark is worse then her bite." he laughed.

Rowena heard a feminine voice from the hallway she had just left calling to her; she turned. "Pardon?" She returned and saw a young, slender girl standing in the hall, holding her shawl. "I believe that's mine," Rowena took the shawl from the girl, "Thanks."

"Sure" She smiled. "I'm Johanna, I just started work here, and I heard raised voices," she colored slightly. "Not abnormal in an opera house," her face flushed deeper. God this woman was as imposing as Madam Giry. She tripped over her words just like she was always tripped over her feet.

"Yes I did," Isabelle responded rather shyly when Cain kissed her hand. "I'm Isabelle Larousse, and I think I remember you from before the fire."
Isabelle though she recalled seeing his face amoung the dancers, but she couldn't be sure. She had been even more shy at that time and only now was beginning to feel comfortable talking to strangers, though not completely.
Trying to put on a confident act, she brushed the hair strands from her face and spoke a bit louder. "How long have you been in the Populaire?"

Rowena suppressed a smile at the girl's nervousness, "Rowena DuMonde, La Carlotta's understudy. A pleasure to meet you." With a short nod, she spun on her heel and turned the corner, leaving the anxious young woman by herself.

He smiled at the fact that she blushed. True he could take his charm over the top some times, but he liked it. "Have have been here for the past 20 years, well except for the previous two." he said. "what about your self?" he asked since he only remember her face a few times before the fire.

"That's a long time." She responded thoughtfully, mentally begging the blush to go away. "I was here for a year before the fire."
Isabelle could hear a conversation coming from Box 5 and she assumed that Rowena had found another victim. She glanced towards the voices but saw nothing.
"What do you know about that Rowena DuMonde?" Isabelle lowered her voice, not wanting to be torn into by Rowena. "She seems rather bitter about something."

Johanna watched the woman stalk off. "Why am I so stupid?!?" She stalked back into the box. "Of course there are raised voices in a opera house, erAAAAAAAAAAGH!!" Johanna spun around and tripped on her boots. She was getting up, cursing her clumsiness, when she heard voices on the stage. With wide eyes, Johanna sunk to the ground, hoping they hadn't heard her. ((like they couldn't hear that display of feminine composure ))
