Even with her seemingly hesitant disapproval of the poison Angel’s smile remained. What he did with poison was less like a hobby and more of an obsession. Or he thought of it more as his profession. It had all started with the mysterious poisoning of a household maid that had piqued his interest, and now he had an encyclopedia worth of knowledge. He wasn’t the least a bit ashamed of it either. Like Colette he was proud to be a Marcellinus, a name that practically meant scandal. They were known for being attractive, cunning, ambitious, and charming. That’s what made them dangerous. They knew what they wanted , how to get it, and, literally sometimes, get away with murder. Even at Colette’s and Angel’s young ages they were no exceptions.
Angel simply shrugged his shoulders and relaxed more into the chair. “I suppose it is, but aconitine isn’t so innocent either.” His eyebrow quirked up with a smirk at her, “ I wouldn’t be doing justice to what I do if I stuck to irritants. You know that’s to safe for me. It’s not like its going to be tested on someone of consequence.” Angel said without remorse to that people that had been involuntary test subjects. He had an in at a few prisons around the neighboring cities where prisoners sentenced to life would unexplainably die of some type of food or drink poisoning. Experimentation was the best way to gather results, rather then trusting what the books say.
“Besides I think I’m getting close to what was given to that maid. According to what the others say the symptoms are close to carbolic acid, but quicker and no burning.” Angel fell into thought as ran through lists of poisons that had the same symptoms. Ever since he ventured into the lethal poisons he’s tried to figure out what was used on the maid that he was kept from interacting with. With suddenly becoming distracted with his thoughts he hadn’t even noticed that Colette hadn’t answered his question. Even if he had noticed it wouldn’t have been odd to him, they had conversations plenty of times before about poisons.
