”I suppose that could be a reason, but you’d think that if he didn’t like father so much that he doesn’t like me because I look like him, why would he change his name to Leroux?” Jacob wasn’t planning on giving Andrew a sympathtic break. The man was forty-five and if he wanted to act like a spoiled child about it, let him. Though he knew it would please Celes to see them smiling at each other he wasn’t panning on doing it and only get a queer look in return.
Celestine’s gleaming smile made his little smile turn up a little more. He though it might be awkward for him when she was wed, but as long as he got to see her and not who her husband would be he’d be fine. ”Hopefully our in-laws and spouse will get along then. Coarse I wouldn’t dare marry a woman that didn’t let me see you.” He said with the best jesting smile he could muster. Jacob knew that one day he’d also have to marry, and the only thing that kept him from being in ‘blissful marriage’ was his obvious indifference to girls.
At the gentle touch of her hand on top of his, the comforting touch that was the strange close yet distant feel that siblings gave each other. How wanted to take her tiny delicate hand in his and kiss it, instead with slowly withdrew it dejectedly to clasp the empty porcelain cup.
His little daydream shattered, and so would the cup if he had been holding it up, when she said whom she fancied. ”Marcellinus?” His disbelief was no where close to being hidden. A man he himself brought into the Opera House had caught his precious sisters eyes. Jacob had half a mind to find a new patron immediately; of coarse he couldn’t do that. What should he have suspected anyways by having a charmer loll-gagging around backstage.
Putting on an incredibly false smile he replied, ”Don’t settle for knight in shining armor, go for a prince charming. And that player is neither.” He had smiled until he came to the last sentence, which he mumbled, in a hardly audible whisper. Jacob had seen and heard of Comte Angel Marcellinus’ flirtatious nature. That heartbreaker was not going to catch his Celes heart.

"Your quite right brother, I guess theres just some things that can't be understand." she said while she did still wish every much for them to get along she begin to realize that it was just not going to happen. And if it did they would have to come to terms with each other on there own.
"I'm sure you'll marry a fine women Jake." she smiled. Jacob was always a shy person, but he was very kind and she knew that he would find a wonderful girl to make him happy. Which was all she really wanted for her family was to be completely happy.
By the sound of Jake saying Marcellinus name she knew right off that he did not approve one bit. "But a knight is so much better then a prince." she smiled she did not know why she prefers it that why, perhaps it was the fact that knights where more bold and daring, and she liked that in a man.
She laughed at his comment about Mr. Marcellinus being a player. "If you say so Jake I trust your judgment more then anyones in the world." she said which was true. She knew Jake had no reason to lie about such things. But at the same time it would not stop her form liking him. Tough she would make sure to keep a eye out next time she was round him.
She took another sip of her tea as a band began to play a nice tune next to a fountain not no far where they where form. She put her cup and and stood up. "Let's dance brother!" she said with a smile on her face and puled him up to go over and join the few other who where dancing. Tough they where all lower class people Celestine didn't care.
((I don't know if people dance randomly in Victorian times but I thought I would be cute lol)

”Hopefully.” was all that he said on the matter of him finding a woman. The chances of him finding one he could be happy with was slim. Being shy was only the beginning of why he hadn’t found anyone to out do his affection for his sister. Jacob didn’t trust women. They were shrewd creatures that only knew that to flirt and get what they want in deceiving ways. Of coarse he trusted Celestine and their cousin Margret, but that was about all.
He doubted that he would ever marry or fall in love. However after he saw Celes in new light years ago he knew that even though she was the youngest she would most likely be married first. With her head full of fairytale endings and her beauty and sweet nature, men would flock to her and she’d go for the man that could get her life as close to the stories as possible. At least that’s what he thought.
But also in his thoughts, the Comte wasn’t a prince of knight but like Avenant from La Belle et la bete. The jerk. For though he was thankful to the Comte for his patronage and thought he had an amiable personality, the man floated about the dormitories making the ballet rats blush and giggle. It made him wonder if that’s where she met him. Celes however seemed to brush off his insult to the man as joke that the next thing she said would have seemed sarcastic if he hadn’t known that she would never do that. Jacob merely gave a weak smile and nodded.
When the band started up behind him he hardly took notice of it being to deep in thought. That was until his sister pulled him out of his seat and on toward the other people dancing. He had an utter look of surprise at the randomness of it but a genuine smile formed on his lips as they took their place among the street and gypsy crowd. ”You know I only know steps that belong in a ballroom.” Jacob said yet at the same time spun her.

"That's ok I know enough dance for the both of us." she said with a smile. When she was dancing she seemed to glow, and while ballet and ballroom where her two strong points of dancing she knew of others, tough mostly threw reading them in books. Since ballet and ballroom was all her teacher had taught her. She spun away form him and came back in gracefully. She let out a slight laugh, it had been a while since she had ever danced with anyone. She had almost forgotten how fun it was.
What Jacob thought about her marriage was all mosts quite true. She did want to find the man that would give her a fairy tale ending, but she also knew other matters where at hand. For one she wanted love, for she knew that nothing good could come out of being married to some one you didn't love, and two while she hated to admit it money was quite a factor. While she knew she'd get a good deal of money once her parents had passed most of it would go to Andrew and Jacob. While she knew that they would take care of her they would also have families to there own some day. So she needed to marry good in order to have at last a comfortable life. Also on top of that with her status she would be excepted to marry a man of same class or higher.
((So sorry for the wait, I needed to get a good muse going.))

Jacob’s smile got a little wider with each second as they danced together. Celes didn’t glow when she danced, she beamed. To him she was so brilliant that he couldn’t help but fully smile. That was a rare thing to see indeed. Usually when he smiles it is just a small, unsure, or shy one. But his one you could actually see his perfectly kept white teeth. He was utterly happy to be swirling and twirling his enchantingly graceful sister. Throwing out the other disconcerting thoughts of earlier he decided he would enjoy this one random moment. “I’m sure you have more talent in dance for everyone here.”
Being able to spend time with his dear Celes was something that from now on he would cherish. Actually he was a little thankful that they had been apart for a bit of time. If they hadn’t then he probably would be feeling uneasy right now. Instead he was showing off what little skill he had to dancing in front of a crowd and he didn’t even notice them.
“I afraid this type of dancing won’t help me with the ball coming up.” Noting the up beat gypsy dance he said jokingly. Which was a rarity also, of coarse he was in a rare mood at the moment. So long as know more talk of suitor and marriage was brought up.
