About your Character
Name: Ophelia Beaulieu.
Nickname: Ophie.
Age: Fourteen.
Country: France.
Position: Dancer.
Voice Type: Mezzo-Soprano.
Eye Color: Dark brown, at first glance almost black.
Hair Color: Deep chestnut.
Height: 5"3'.
General Appearance: Ophelia learned shortly after jumping into puberty that each girl grew at their own pace, and were 'beautiful' in their own way. And it would be true, for when she compared herself to the beautiful actresses on stage her looks simply clashed with what audiences loved. With almond-shaped eyes that drooped slightly, followed by childish dimples she considered the horrible and likely possibility that she would stay like that forever. Most notable about her were her warm smile, honest reactions, and curious eyes. The bruises on her torso were from Ophelia's quest to get womanly curves by tightening her corset a bit too much. Ophelia was the very personification of a girl who wasn't yet, and perhaps would never be, a lady. She is considered "the trifecta of being undateable". Sadly, she doesn't seem to see how nice she does look, regardless of not being an adult.
Her skin is fairly pale, but has seen enough sun to have a healthy glow. Although her teeth are a little bent out of perfect shape, she prefers to think they add to her character. She ties her hair into loose ponytails or buns, and likes to use heated rods to give her locks an unnatural spring. Her strange hairstyle hides her ears, which are slightly larger than average. Ophelia likes to wear patterned gowns made of cotton or wool with long sleeves; which supposedly made the hands smaller and made a girl look more attractive.
Likes: Romantic novels, passionate couples, learning how to dance, and drawing.
Dislikes: Disaster, being made fun of (is often called a "foolish child"), her own unattractiveness, and being scared.
Personality: Ophelia looks like an ordinary ballet dancer. A hopeless romantic who's a little too talkative, a person who generally gets on others' nerves if mentioned. However, she possesses is a warm, sad charm which draws adults and children alike. Unlike some other ballet members, Ophelia enjoys keeping secrets. However she is still easily ticked off by frustrating things, and blushes after seeing someone handsome. Ophelia may be a little annoying to some, but she's still just a teenager trying to get a handle on her feelings, and most seem to understand that.
She often displays remarkable and sudden altruism, regardless of her own situation. Ophelia also has very good memory, and can remember the most important events in her life as well as what may have happened to other people. She has a good sense of humor and maturity for someone so young, but is also unexpectedly harsh on herself for not being as graceful or lovely as someone else. Being comfortable in her own skin was only the first problem anyway.
Something Unique About Your Character: Ophelia can wiggle her ears.
Family: Coralie Beaulieu (Mother; alive) and Denis Beaulieu (Father; alive). She also has a cat named Gilbert.
Background: Ophelia led a pleasant, rich life with her mother and father. As a child she always felt proud to boast about her parents, and there was good reason for her to feel so happy. Coralie and Denis Beaulieu had the always dreamed of, perfect, fairytale ending. Ophelia's mother was a retired ballerina, who was said to have danced so magnificently she could give the illusion of flight. Her father was a handsome salesman at the peak of his career. They fell in love at first sight, and after a few shy dates, married with a beautiful wedding that would last a lifetime.
Yet as she grew up with stories of their innocent romance, the more Ophelia felt pressured to achieve that same ending. Especially after her mother told her how she got her name; from Hamlet. Ophelia, the poor virgin girl who died after being rejected from her love! If that wasn't blatant foreshadowing, Ophelia Beaulieu didn't know what was. But she wouldn't wait for that likely ending. At least, that was her secretive goal. As life pushed itself onto Ophelia, she constantly found herself uncovering unwanted hardships and secrets, but also new friends. With such a busy life, her dream of finding an impossible love might never stand a chance.
Anything else: Whenever Ophelia doubts herself, she blames her body, which causes more doubt. It's an endless cycle. She also learned how to play the piano at a young age since she found its music to be fun and enjoyable.
