Anya stood in one of the many dressing rooms of the Opera Populaire, looking at the book she borrowed from the fabric shop. She was trying to figure out how to make her dress a reality for the Jondrette masquerade, which she was lucky enough to get an invite to as part of the staff of the Opera Populaire.
"Hold on, that has to be clipped to here and... oh now I see," she mumbled to herself as she positioned the cloths on the mannequin. Anya had taken the design into her own hands and tried to make it look as wonderful as possible. She wanted to be one of the best dressed there, but the dresses that the costume designer was producing were giving Anya a run for her money.
"I could put the silk at the hems, or..." Anya told thin strips of the silk and placed them across the stomach area to make it look like there was a rip and underneath was silk. She thought it made the dress look perfect so she quickly grabbed the needle and started sewing them on.
Anya was currently wearing a long white skirt that went to her knees, with tights underneath and a short sleeved shirt that matched. It was quite casual, mainly because she didn't have anywhere to be to that day. Her long copper hair was down as usual and cascading like a waterfall behind her back.
Just when she thought she was alone in the dressing room, she heard the door open and close. "Yes, is someone there?"

"Indeed, there is," came the voice of the Marquis from the doorway, and a slow smile curled onto his lips as he took in the captivating apparition in front of him. Oh, yes, a redhead. He would forever be reminded of Nicolette when he saw that colour, and thus scowl, but this was a much brighter and appealing view, so his mouth spared the trouble. His eyes slipped slowly up and down her figure, and his smile grew. Beautiful figure, femininely thin but still full and sumptuous, and that hair. Now, if he could only see her face. It might be a deal breaker.
Noticing that she was busy working on something, he stepped and chuckled as his eyes alighted upon the half-finished dress. "What is it that you are creating, my dear?" He asked, beginning his slow approach. Scaring her away was not the goal this time; he wanted to see her face, and he would develop his plan of action from there. There was always room for beautiful women in his life. What a blessing this trip had turned out to be! He had been stalking about the Opera House often now that he had received the painting depicting his daughter with another blonde woman on what was obviously the stage of the Populaire. This time he had slipped past the managers' notice and begun patrolling the less public areas of the opera house. Now, faced with a lovely vision in white, Gerard could not be happier with his decision. Except, perhaps, if it had been Nicole he had stumbled upon. Revenge was its own sort of pleasure.

"I'll be with you in a moment, monsieur," she said pinning a bit of thread into its proper place. Anya assumed the visitor was male, but she didn't recognize it as one of the voice of the usual men tat the Populaire. The again, she didn't acquaint herself with most men, not having much experience with them, so it could've been a stagehand for all she knew. Nonetheless, she stepped down a bit and turned to the man that shared the room with her.
He was most definitely not an employee a the Opera, that was for sure. His clothes were to fine and expensive to be afforded by anyone less the the status of manager. The gentleman had a few years on himself, much more than she did with her seventeen years. He had asked her a question, but had not answered him.
"Oh excuse me," she said politely, putting on the mask of the sweet and innocent Anya. "I'm putting together a dress for the Jondrette bal masque," she answered, putting a hand on the hip of the mannequin. "I'm Anastasia de Chateaupers, a violinist here at the Opera," she said, curtseying. "May I ask who are you? You don't look familiar."
