Personality:
Rose is generally a sweet person, she isn't an angel, but she doesn't like to hurt people and if she can she does like to please people. However, Rose will never put aside something she wants for someone else except for, of course, her two children. She is a very determined person who nearly always gets her way and will stop at nothing until she does. She prides herself on her strong will, in fact, the only thing she feels she hasn't been strong enough to do was to save her daughter.
One of Rosemarie's greatest loves is shopping and getting dressed up. She'll admit it, she a bit vain, obsessed with her looks, but she is in no way shallow. She does not mind in the slightest other people who share her interest in looking attractive, what she detests is people who won't admit it. People who talk about being deeper then all that. That would be one of Rose's greatest turn offs, people who pretend to be something they're not. She doesn't mind secrets, as long as she knows that they're secrets and not lies.
Her philosophy on men is that they are like a piece of great art, nice to look at but try and figure them out and you'll spend you're entire life just wondering what they're all about. She enjoys staring at men and gossiping about them with her friends but refuses to become close to any of them, except her brother and son but that's different.
Rosemarie has played the piano since she was ten years old, her mother had taught her, thinking it a very ladylike thing to be able to do. She became very skilled at it, unlike her sister, who couldn't understand a word of it. Rose thinks of it as a hobby, but she is probably good enough to go professional though she doesn't know it.
Writing has been Rose's idea of a perfect career since she was a little girl, unfortunately she has never been very good at it. Sometimes she would write two word sentences and at other times fifty word ones. She uses too many adjectives or too few. She can't tell a noun from a pronoun or a verb from an adverb. It's easy to see her brother's reluctance to give her the job, despite it simply being inappropriate for a lady. She loves it more then any other activity in the world and refuses to accept the fact that she is horrible at it.
Something Unique About Your Character: Rose loves the one things she is horrible at and thinks of the one thing she is magnificent at as a hobby.
Family:
Daughter- Adelpha Emerson, a sweet and innocent twelve year old girl who lives with her father, Darell.
Son- Joseph Beaumont is a happy and curious eight year old boy who lives with Rosemarie and adores exploring the opera house. He lives with Rosemarie.
Ex Husband- Darell Emerson is one of the most powerful lawyers in London, he is a thirty four year old man who is cold and yet charming. For ten years he abused Rosemarie until she finally got up the courage to leave. No official divorce was ever made between the two of them.
Younger Sister- Elaine Beaumont is twenty five and is vain but innocent and sweet. She is a chorus girl at the opera house who her siblings and nephew often visit there.
Older Brother- Roy Beaumont is thirty one but acts much older, he is responsible and strict but loving and kind at the same time. He runs the largest newspaper in France.
Background:
Rosemarie was born in Paris France into an upper middle class family who had own the largest newspaper in France for decades. She was always a very happy and curious girl who always had a passion for writing and exploring. She was very close to her brother, Roy, and her sister, Elaine. She lived in a large house in the country side and she and her siblings would often go out riding horses and running about through the forest and fields. Over all, they were a very happy family.
However, when Rosemarie was fifteen years old her father passed away of old age. The two young Beaumont girls were horrified simply because they had lost their dear father, but the Roy and Mrs. Beaumont had other things to think about. They both knew that if the newspaper stopped printing they would all be in the poor house, so Roy offered to take over that paper at the young age of sixteen. He became very distant from the rest of the family and nearly became an entirely different person.
Three years later, when Rose was eighteen, her mother fell ill with Lung Cancer, she died within the year. The three Beaumont siblings were completely alone in the world. The youngest, Elaine, who was only thirteen at the time took it the worst. She became very quiet and refused to speak to anyone for months. Eventually she did get over it, but she came back into the world a very different person. Elaine became vain and unhappy, she would often throw tantrums and yell.
Rose realized that she no longer had any place in this family. Both her brother and sister had changed and only she could recall what the family used to look like. On a whim, she decided she had to leave, so she flirted her way into a marriage with Darell, a wealthy lawyer from London, England who was visiting Paris for the summer.
For a few months everything was fine, until he grew ill just after their daughter had been born. He became violent and abusive and was constantly angry. Finally, when Rosemarie noticed that she was once again pregnant she realized that she couldn't raise children with him. She expressed this to him and told him that she was taking Adelpha and leaving. He told her that she could leave whenever she liked but she could not have Adelpha. He also told her that if she tried to take her he would have her arrested. This was when it dawned on her that she would have to choose between a better life for herself and her unborn son, or staying and protecting her young daughter. Finally she made her decision and she walked out on him, leaving Adelpha crying her name as fled the house. Rosemarie was on the next train to Paris.
Eight years passed, and Rosemarie wrote to her daughter every week, she never failed to send a card and present every year. In her letters she expressed to Adelpha why she had to leave but she never received any letter in return. She had no doubt that Darell had burnt them or refused to let her read them. Rose moved in with her brother and sister who were still living there lives as if nothing had ever happened. Although, her brother became very worried about her social standing, being a mother without a husband. One could only imagine the gossip. He tried to convince her to marry again which she had no intent on doing.
Rose, who always had a passion for writing has been trying to convince her brother to let her write for the newspaper to earn her keep. Of course, he refused, so Rosemarie decided to have a bet with him. If she could write single insider story on the Phantom of the Opera within the next three years he would let her write for him, if she could not, she would marry again.
Rosemarie has attended nearly every other performance at the Opera Populaire and visited her sister there whenever possible, never loosing hope that the Phantom of the Opera was, in fact, real and that he was still lurking somewhere in the depths of the opera house.
Anything else: Not at the moment, no.

The streets were empty and it was probably cold, but Rosemarie couldn’t be certain. For a moment she wondered if she was still in London, she had been walking for a while. Then she realized, she didn’t care. She didn’t give a damn, in fact, maybe it would be better if she was as far away from home as possible. She tried her best not to think, to only focus on the road a head of her and not the one behind her, but her mind kept slipping back her daughters pleas.
"Mama! Don't leave! Don't leave, Mama!" The very thought stopped Rose in her tracks, she knew if she began to cry she would never be able to stop, so she just stood there in the snow, staring into a future that could never measure up to the past. She had to be strong though... strong... strong for...
"Adelpha." She whispered her daughters name who was now probably still in the courthouse, screaming for her mother while her father tried to hold her back.
"Mama! Don't leave me!" Rose caught a sob in her throat but did not let it escape her lips. But her baby girl's cries continued to echo in her head.
Where was she now? Was she asleep in her tiny pink bed? Or was Darell still trying to keep her from coming after me? Or had he convinced her that it was for the best? Of course he had, a man like Darell would find a way to explain to her that I was a horrible mother and that something terrible would have happened if I had stayed.
Stop it, Rosemarie! She hissed at herself, Or you'll end up back there begging for his forgiveness. That was out of the question, she would not, could not, condemn herself to anymore time with that man. But at the same time she wondered if she could condemn her daughter to being along with him for the rest of her life... Could she? Could she live with herself?
Yes she could. She had to. Rosemarie took another step forward down the road that lead to the train station. She was going home.
